Manage an agent

Find the settings for an agent’s behaviour, knowledge, capabilities and access.

Open Manage

Open the management page for an agent you own or co-manage. The sections shown depend on your role and edition. A person who can chat with an agent does not automatically have permission to change it.

Shape its behaviour

  • Profile: its name, purpose and description.
  • Look and Character: how it appears and talks.
  • Wisdom: instructions and guidance it should follow.
  • Brain: model options where your edition allows them.

Choose what it can do

Data holds sources and tools. Displays controls what it can show in replies; Artifacts controls what it can create. These are separate settings. Capabilities controls features offered in its chat interface.

Where available, Teammates lets an agent work with other agents, and Apps selects which connected services users can offer it.

Control who can use it

Review Access before sharing. Use Co-managers when another person needs to help configure it. Hosted agents also offer settings for marketplace presence, links, email and domains where supported.

Save and test changes

Save edits in the section you are working on. If you navigate away with unsaved changes, use the page’s save or discard prompt. Open a new test conversation after changing instructions, then confirm the agent behaves as intended.
