Both platforms build agents that work with your data, connect to business tools and work in Teams. Omnimatch gives you control over privacy, a choice of model providers, access to extensive data sources and flexible hosting. Copilot Studio fits naturally into Microsoft’s own tools and administration.

Privacy and model choice
Omnimatch
- Choose your model provider. Switch between supported models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others in settings, keeping your existing agents.
- Bring your own model account. Use your provider’s API key, or run a compatible local model on-premise. No Microsoft subscription is required.
- Choose how your data is handled. Enterprise offers zero data retention with selected models: the model provider retains neither prompts nor responses. For fully offline use, run on-premise with local models and data.
Copilot Studio
- Model choice within Microsoft’s platform. Choose supported models from several providers, or connect Azure AI Foundry models to prompts. Availability depends on the feature, region and admin settings.
- Microsoft privacy and retention controls. Microsoft documents zero data retention for certain OpenAI model requests. Agent activity can still be stored under separate retention policies. Copilot Studio runs in Microsoft’s cloud.
Model-provider zero data retention is separate from saved conversations and service logs. With your own API key, your provider’s retention terms apply. API usage is billed separately from a consumer chat subscription.
